Michael Heuer became vice president of business development and consulting for Global Telecom Markets (GTM, formerly Wholesale Business) in BT Global Services in April 2004. His responsibilities on a worldwide basis include GTM´s go-to-market and portfolio strategy, sales and market development programmes, and consulting services (BT Telconsult). Michael Heuer joined BT Global Services in 2003 as director of European sales operations and support. With more than twenty-three years in the software and telecoms industry, he is using his broad experience to develop new business for GTM.
His background includes running his own software company during university, followed by various sales positions at North American Software, Lotus, Novell, and Microsoft. He then moved into the telecoms industry, working for several years in sales and marketing executive management positions for UUNET and MCI Worldcom in Germany and Europe.
Karsten Lereuth is the BT Global Services president for Global Telecom Markets (GTM). Karsten has been actively involved in the successful development of the German internet economy since the mid-1990s. After his university degree in engineering in 1990 he joined an IT system house as director of sales. In 1994 he worked for a Japanese hardware manufacturer as director of sales and marketing in Germany. In 1996 Karsten joined the Internet provider UUNET, the Internet division of WorldCom, as a member of the EMEA management team in several key functions, including managing director. In May 2001 he moved to Group 3G, the UMTS joint venture of Telefonica and Sonera, in Germany, where he was responsible for marketing, products and services. A senior executive in BT's Global Services division since December 2002, Karsten has headed GTM (formerly known as Wholesale Business) since May 2004.
Martin Kottbusch is Regional Director Latin America and global practice leader in business processes and organisation development for BT Telconsult.
Active in the telecommunication industry for fifteen years, Martin has led major reorganisation, change and transformation programmes in senior roles for companies like MCI, Telefónica and BT.
He has spent many years in multinational marketing, product development and sales leadership roles. Amongst other achievements as Vice President Marketing he introduced the Telefónica brand in Germany and managed large-scale product and platform launch projects for both a mobile operator and an intelligent network provider.
BT Telconsult's expert on Next Generation Technology, Andrew Batten has 23 twenty-three years' telecommunications experience and holds a BSc, MSc and MBA. Prior to moving to Southeast Asia in 1999, Andrew spent over ten years in various product development roles including two years as programme director, achieving product launches of one per month and introducing BT's first IP-based management product. Since 1999, Andrew has acted as managing consultant with various carriers in the region, advising on technology architecture, mergers and acquisitions, and general telecommunications consulting.
Ivan Skenderoski is a senior consultant with BT Telconsult, the management consultancy division of BT Global Telecom Markets. Based in Dubai, he leads consultancy projects for fixed and mobile telecom operators and internet service providers in the Gulf Region.
Before taking on this role, Ivan was a specialist consultant working on global next-generation network (NGN) and services transformation projects. His areas of expertise include wireless networks and next generation services. He led projects in Singapore, India and the UK.
Ivan has a master’s degree in computer science and engineering. He is also a qualified PRINCE 2 practitioner, a member of the Association for Project Management (APM UK) and a recognised expert facilitator who has supported the rollout of change programmes in BT.
A native of Macedonia, Ivan speaks Macedonian, English, Serbo-Croatian, Bulgarian and basic Spanish. He joined BT in 2000.
